Jekyll Island, GA is one of the islands the make up the 'Golden Isles' of Georgia, which include exclusive Sea Island and St. Simons Island, and the undeveloped Cumberland Island (where JFK, Jr. was married) with its wild horses and empty beaches. The Golden Isles have long been known by this name because of their beautiful sun rises and sunsets.
Jekyll, a 7 mile long Island, is connected to the mainland and the historic port city of Brunswick by a causeway and is reachable by car. Jekyll Island is a Georgia state park. While Georgia has leased less than 30% of the island to homeowners and businesses, under state law, the remainder of the island must remain pristine and undeveloped. The parkland and beaches are pristine and quiet as compared with most public parks and beaches. One can see all kinds of wild life as well, including sea turtles, dolphins, island deer, and all sorts of interesting birds.
The island was sold to GA by the millionaires club that owned it since 1880.

- The upstairs bathroom is huge and there is a new tiled shower with multiple jets and sprayers large enough for two or more. The downstairs baths are smaller and original with the house but one contains a tub and shower and the other just a shower and both have been renovated with new tile floors and new sinks.

- We list the house as sleeping 14, but there is also a sleep sofa on the year round glassed in porch in the back yard that would allow sleeping for 2 more or a total of 16. The trundle bed is used as 2 twins or a king UPSTAIRS: The house has sleeping for 4 upstairs with 11/2 baths (including a large luxurious bath with the King suite), a large separate kitchen and open family room lined with French sliding doors that provide a beautiful panoramic view of the Ocean and passing dolphins and lead to a large sun deck DOWNSTAIRS: the downstairs has 4 bedrooms (1 master suite with Queen bed and full bath) a second bedroom with a Queen bed and 2 other bedrooms each with 2 twin beds. The downstairs also has a small kitchen, laundry area, dining area and living room with a queen sleeper and a wide screen TV. The house has a garage for bikes and beach stuff and plenty of parking. There is a large grassy fenced back yard with a good sized private swimming pool and a glass enclosed porch.
