Near Yet Far: Conveniently located just over an hour from Atlanta, the home is located in a new, 2000+ acre gated mountain resort which faces the south shore of Carter's Lake. All resort amenities are free to our guests. Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Jasper, and Dalton are all within a short drive. This means that, although your vacation home is in a tranquil area, all the activities and restaurants are just a short drive away. There are many activities including hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, fly-fishing, boating, water skiing, tubing, rafting, hunting, nature trails, horseback riding, riding ATVs, tennis, basketball, shopping, festivals and antique hunting. The resort has a pond with picnicking facilities, pools, a Trout Lodge, a fitness center, tennis and basketball courts, a clubhouse, playgrounds, hiking paths and more.
More Details: Ellijay is the apple capital of Georgia and just a short ride away. It is the gateway to the Appalachian Mountains. It has many good restaurants, shopping, art festivals, apple orchards, antique shopping, a movie theater, sports bar, a Super Walmart, hospitals and and many other modern conveniences. Also near Ellijay are countless opportunities for outdoor recreation such as hiking, whitewater rafting, canoeing, biking, trout fishing, horseback riding, 4-wheeling and much more. Within a 45 minute ride of the resort, you have access to many popular north Georgia destinations such as Fort Mountain State Park, Amicaola Falls State Park, Blue Ridge, the Appalachian Trail, 3 large golf courses and many other attraction. The famous Georgia Apple Festival is on the second and third weekends of October, the 13-14 and 20-21. The festival boasts over 40 art and crafts and food vendors, that sample and sell all types of apple and regional delicacies, and special activities for kids.
About our home: We can't begin to tell you how cozy and warm our home is. From the wood floors to the mouldings, to the stacked-stone wood-burning fireplace, it exudes comfort and well-being. Everyone who has visited the cabin loves is. Sincerely, we wish we could be there every weekend - but that's impossible. Our greatest hope is that you enjoy it as much as we do. In the summer, the view, through a 'window', is ethereal...you can feel the magic. In the fall, the incredible shades and hues of our trees are a constant delight, and, in the winter, the magnificent 120 degree view of the mountains is not-to-be-forgotten. Treat your family to a truly memorable experience!
