- All bedding is 320 thread count or higher. All mattresses and beds are new as of 10/15/2007. All bedroom sets are matching. We cut no corners with respect to your comfort. Each Futon has two plastic bins under it with 2 pillows, two pillow cases, top sheet, bottom sheet and blanket. All are 320 thread count. Futon frames are solid beech and mattresses are nine layer. Once made up with bedding, these queen size futons are as comfortable as most beds. All futons are placed in a location where they access a full bath without going through a bedroom. There are two futons in the north loft and two in the family room downstairs. This provides 7 sleeping areas in the house that will accommodate up to seven couples with an element of privacy.

Located less than an hour from Atlanta, near Amicalola Falls, Sassafras Place was designed and built to be one of the finest vacation rentals in North Georgia and is the 'sister home' to Monument Place (vrbo#100324). If you doubt our ability to deliver against this goal, we strongly suggest you visit our guest book from our first two vacation rentals, Paramount Place (vrbo#31607) or Monument Place (vrbo#100324) Located at 3000 feet above sea level, on the southernmost extension of the Blue Ridge Mountains within one half mile of the intersection of Gilmer, Pickens and Dawson county, the design, construction and furnishing of both Sassafras Place and Monument Place were inspired by our first vacation rental, Paramount Place.
Perched on the top of Sassafras Mountain, Sassafras Place provides 4300 sq. ft. of finished space, 1800 sq ft. of covered deck and 800 sq. ft. of covered terrace-level patio. Sassafras Place is an absolutely gorgeous, custom, executive home on five acres. From this ridge-line, you can see over 70 mi. to the Northeast, looking over the top of Amicalola Falls and into the Chattahoochee National Forest beyond it. Completed in September of 2007, Sassafras Place is ideal for three to five families, extended families, large reunion gatherings, or a couple that likes a lot of space. Perfect for a small wedding, wedding reception, honeymoon, or all three! With five sleeping areas on the perimeter of three large, common areas on three different levels, Sassafras Place has been designed to accommodate a large group, while still providing privacy to couples & individuals. Literally 600 yards away & around the corner from Monument Place, this home allows us to serve up to 35 overnight guests
Sassafras Place is very secluded and private, yet only five miles from Amicalola Falls State Park, 12 miles from Jasper, and 14 miles from Ellijay. The Ellijay town square has antique shops, art galleries, specialty shops, and a variety of interesting eateries. Ellijay is also the apple capital of the North Georgia Mountains and has an Apple Festival every fall. Our home is also convenient for day trips to the the popular mountain communities of Blue Ridge, Helen and Dahlonega, the site of the first North American gold rush and wine vineyards. Sassafras Place is conveniently close to prime mountain bike trails, hiking trails, trout fishing on the Amicalola River, Burt's Pumpkin Farm, whitewater rafting & canoeing on the Cartecay & Toccoa rivers, Amicalola Falls, and the Appalachian Trail. Sassafras Place is a great mountain getaway with over 7300 sq. ft. under roof on three levels. It has five bedrooms, five and a half baths, with a wraparound deck to take full advantage of the view
