Located in Kapoho Beach Lots, which is a gated community in one of the most beautiful and sacred parts of the Big Island. Kapoho is famous for its snorkeling and its thermally heated tidal pools. Just down the highway iis the larger Hot Pond that is great for swimming or lounging in. Along the Red Road you will see incredible vistas out to the Ocean and be sure to stop and check out Kehena black sand beach. The tropical forests here are right out of your imagination of what they should look like. Kapoho is not far from Pahoa with its shops and restaurants and then a short driver further to Hilo.

Notes: Both bedrooms are equally comfortable and inviting but try not to lounge in bed too long as there is so much to do and see here in East Hawaii. This might be the perfect day to fish, scuba dive or kayak. On second thought you might just spend the day by the hot pond. Na Honu O Ke Kai has two generous bathrooms to choose from. If you are here with family or friends it makes your stay more pleasant to have your own private bathroom.

Kapoho House Details

Green sea turtles are an endangered species so keep your distance from them. They are a delight to watch and you have a very good chance to see and swim with them in either Champagne Pond or at the Wai'opae (Kapoho) tide pools. One of the great delights of tropical East Hawaii is the abundance of colorful flowers that bloom freely. You are bound to see beautiful flowers and plants everywhere you go but you might want to make a special trip to one of the beautiful botanical gardens. You will be amazed even if you aren't a plant freak . Located across from Champagne Pond. The reefs keep the water calm and the incredibly clear water is heated by the volcano to around 90 degrees. There is always an abundance of colorful fish and of course the green sea turtles will keep you company. Don't forget your mask and fins.
