Thermopolis House Details
Corporate Retreats / Family Reunions: Our comfortable log home, nicknamed 'The Lodge', ia a unique and relaxing alternative to big city hotels. The vast open space offers a variety of outdoor activities. Fly fishing the blue ribbon Big Horn River can be arranged around meeting schedules. Lessons and guides are also available from a local Orvis outfitter for an additional fee. Full day drift boat with guide, gear and lunch $250. person. One additional person add $50.00. (no more than 2 anglers on boat) Families can get together for a true western cowboy experience. Cattle round-up, hay wagon rides, hiking and horseback riding are just a few of our on sight activities. Our yearly calf branding takes place in May.
Our ranch history began in 1904 when Vincent Vivian Hayes homesteaded on this land moving across the mountains from Elko, Nevada. For 3 generations the Hayes family raised renowned Quarter Horses and Cattle. The ranch was finally sold in 1984 however original family home sites can still be seen today. The VH brand has been in use for over 100 years. Part of the famous Jim Bridger Trail crosses the ranch. Every year a group of about 100 riders, called the Outlaw Trail Riders, retrace the trails of Jim Bridger, the Butch Cassidy Gang and the Pony Express.
Other Activities: Worlds largest mineral springs & bathes, dinosaur museum, dinosaur digs, petroglyphs
