Highlands House Summary

Beautiful house is located on the top of Big Bear Pen Mountain inside the city limits of Highlands, North Carolina. A walk around the top of the mountain provides five spectacular views. The house is exactly 1.1 miles down to Main Street in Highlands. The house was completed in 1993. The floor plan won the House Beautiful award in 1990. A wrap-around porch surrounds the house. There is a 25 foot stacked fireplace in the family room. All hardwood floors and pickled paneling. Entire front of house is floor to ceiling glass. The house has four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. Eight guests can sleep in beds and there are two fold-out leather sofas. The Master bedroom and bath is located on the main floor. Master bedroom has a king size bed. Master bathroom has a jacuzzi and walk-in steam shower with his and her sinks. Two bedrooms and a full bath are located upstairs. One of the bedrooms has a queen size bed and one has twin beds. The attached garage bedroom has twin beds and a bathroom.

Highlands House Details

Sofa Location for Extra Sleeping Arrangements: The two leather sofa's that can be used for extra sleeping arrangements are located in the family (living room) area. Each sofa folds out into a regular size bed.

Wood for the Fireplace: Winter guests can place an order for wood for the fireplace with Mindy. She will arrange for the wood to be delivered for you so it is stacked and ready for you to use upon your arrival. The following prices are for the wood and the delivery (prices are exactly what we are charged). A Small Load is $50.00 ( approx. 50 pieces ), a Large load is $80.00 ( approx. 100 pieces ) and a1/4 Cord Load - $100.00. Our guests have advised us that the small load is not enough wood if it is cold and you like to have a fire during your weekend stay. The 1/4 cord gives you the most wood at the best price.
