Isle of Palms Cottage Summary

Florida-style beach cottage located 3 blocks (about 1000 feet) from the beach, nice gas grill on patio, wireless internet as of 8/1/08. Pet friendly, but yard is not fenced. The Isle of Palms is a family-friendly island, located 11 miles from historic Charleston, SC. The 2 islands northwest of Charleston, Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island, host 22 restaurants from beach bars to first class, many with live music during the spring and summer months. There is a county park on the beach front with parking, showers, and lifeguards. If you don't feel like walking, this is an easy, close, beach access with amenities. The front beach has several small souvenir shops and nice beach attire shops. There are also abundant shopping opportunities at Town Center located just across the 4 mile connector to the mainland in Mt. Pleasant. The Isle of Palms has remained a family-style beach community with public access in close proximity to everything a city has to offer.

Within a 20 mile radius there is a great beach, historic Charleston, world class restaurants, boating, sailing, eco-tours, kayaking, jet-skiing, fly-fishing, inland and deep-sea fishing charters, dinner cruises, hiking in the Francis Marion National Forest, bike trails. The city of Charleston has a world-class aquarium, carriage rides, self-guided and guided walking tours, exquisite shopping on King Street, wonderful parks, and marinas. Across the bridge in Mt. Pleasant, one finds Patriots Point with the aircraft carrier, Yorktown which houses the Medal of Honor Museum. There are several word-class golf courses including the well-known Wild Dunes Links course. Also on Daniel Island, there is the Family Circle Cup Tennis Center. There is also a leading tennis center at Wild Dunes on the North end of the Isle of Palms. The IOP Recreation Center has Soccer and Baseball fields, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, a Doggie Park, lighted tennis courts and a large children's play area.
