Fort Morgan Cottage Summary
Get away from it all and relax at the Land of Nod. The Rookery is a quaint cottage resort located at mile-marker 6 on Fort Morgan Road, just 15 miles from Gulf Shores. It is a natural and quiet community adjacent to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. The complex has two pools, a large jacuzzi, tennis court, and outdoor barbecue grills. The larger pool is heated, and its zero-entry feature is great for little ones. The gulf is less than a half-mile stroll or drive, and the beaches are private and very secluded. The cottage has all the comforts of home. We have two queen beds and a full-sized sofa sleeper in the third bedroom. There are three TVs and two DVD players. The cottage has a screened in porch with a view of The Rookery’s natural habitat, and it’s only a stone’s throw from the Jacuzzi and zero-entry pool.

In Fort Morgan, you can enjoy the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuse, visit historical Fort Morgan, or ride the ferry to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Fort Gaines. At the Rookery, you get the peacefulness and seclusion of Fort Morgan while being only a short drive from all of the activities in Gulf Shores, such as Waterville U.S.A., Track Recreation Center, Pirates Island Adventure, and the Gulf Shores Zoo. Other local activities include golf, tennis, theme park (amusement park), zoo/wildlife park, shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, sailing, boating, parasailing, jet skiing, shelling, swimming, biking, fishing. Nearby restaurants include Tacky Jack's, Sunplace Else, Nibbler’s Pizza, Tequila Bay, and Parrott Dize. Also, the Beach Club, which is a few miles down the road, has an excellent restaurant and a coffee and ice cream shop.
