Snorkeling or diving is like swimming in an aquarium! Many boats leave the dock and harbor ea morning for sightseeing and dive/snorkel excursions. At night you can choose to partake in a spectacular Polynesian luau, or stroll downtown amid shops, galleries and all kinds of foods- from world-class restaurants to cozy diners. A day trip around the island takes you past waterfalls and rainforests, through rolling hills and lava flows, up to the Volcanoes and cool mountain air. Each day dawns softly to the sounds of birds singing and breezes blowing through the palms. The bright blue Pacific Ocean shimmers and invites. Later in the day, a warm rain might fall and refresh. There are always surprises to be had on the Kona Coast.

Hawaiian paintings and hula lamp complete the sense of being in an island retreat. The Sleeping Loft has a Queen sized bed and is spacious and private. It has it's own ceiling fan and there is a large closet, love seat, and reading nook by the window with cushy chair and library shelf filled with books. The loft is a world apart - for private escape and rest.

Notes: Kona Makai complex is set well off of the main road so it is very quiet and away from traffic noise. THE COMPLEX IS QUIET AND RESTFUL - NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. Tennis courts are up by the road. There is a gate that is locked at night for security. There are managers on-site and we have our own emergency contact person close-by. The building is concrete and insulated so you don't hear your neighbors. Our condo is a third floor walk-up. There are no elevators in the complex. But it is easy to park and unload anything. It is always easy to find parking along the driveway and in the covered lot. Kailua-Kona is a resort community. Visitors are well-provided for-there are big grocery stores nearby, even Costco and Walmart are a short drive away. There is an excellent hospital just minutes away. The Hawaiians are friendly, sweet, and helpful. They are a joy to get to know!

Guest Book: 1. 'The unit is lovely - clean (you have great cleaners!) .It is very nice having the high speed connection here!'... 2. 'Thank you for your hospitality. We loved the condo. We enjoyed all the spaces (inside and out) and were very comfortable. I'm already missing the cool breezes and drinking coffee on the lanai in the morning! We were all happy that there were spaces we could retreat to for relaxation without piling on top of each other - my son made the loft his retreat and spent many evenings curled up with a book.'... 3. ' What a beautiful vacation spot you have made for yourselves. It must be difficult every time you return to the mainland.'
