Down a tree-lined lane lies this 1860s farmhouse and guesthouse just 5 minutes away from quintessential New England town square (with general store) and ocean beaches. Lots of land (2 acres), stone walls, open lawns, birds (including bluebirds), no light pollution (very starry nights), sea breezes, flowers (many climbing roses, daylillies, hydrangeas), and total quiet (beautiful textured woods view from back porch--no houses in view). Exposed beams, open floor plan, beautiful mahogany deck, teak outdoor furniture, Adirondack chairs, hard wood floors, outdoor shower, front porch. Two bedrooms in farmhouse and one in guesthouse. In farmhouse, nice kitchen with gas stove, one bathroom, dining room, living room. In guesthouse, cathedral ceiling room including couch and roll out bed; other room includes washing machine, large refrigerator, and beach stuff. Just 40 minutes from Newport, RI. Fall is a wonderful time to rent, and at lower rates. Accept PayPal for payment.

Beautiful coastal farming area with pristine Atlantic beaches, wonderful farm produce, great fish and lobsters, and very quaint town center. Wonderful Cuttyhunk Island available by ferry 20 minutes from house. Cycling is a joy along country and seaside roads.

Little Compton Farmhouse Details

Special things about Little Compton: There are two public beaches within 2 miles, including South and Goosebury (best) and a wonderful, hidden place to view the best surf in southern New England and have a picnic (Town Landing). Very close to the house is (freshwater) Quicksand Pond with all kinds of birds, animals, and flora...nice for kayaking. Get your lobsters at the shop on Sakonnet Point. Best corn in the world at Walker's stand just a bike ride away. Variety of churches in town square and old burial ground. Many fairs throughout the season. Back Eddy restaurant on the water in Westport is fabulous. Lots of places for antiques, art, and fun shopping. The best thing about LC is that it is quietly elegant. No tourist rush. Although Wilbur's General Store can hop a bit in the morning when the papers come in. Similarly, the Commons Restaurant, specializing in Johnny Cakes for breakfast, gets busy on the weekends. There is a nice library in the town square as well as an ice cream parlor.
