Things to do:: The cabin is located only 3 miles from the Sly Park Lake Recreation Area. In the summer months enjoy hiking, swimming, boating (bring your own or there are canoes, pedal boats, row boats, and kayaks for rent), water-skiing, wakeboarding or fishing. You can catch mackinaw, rainbow trout, brown trout, bluegill and smallmouth bass in beautiful Jenkinson Lake. The nearby rivers also offer great opportunities for Whitewater Rafting. In the winter months you will have plenty of opportunity for skiing or snowboarding at one of the local ski resorts. Sierra-At-Tahoe or Kirkwood Mountain Ski Resorts are only about 30 miles from this vacation home.
Places to go:: El Dorado County provides tasting rooms with award winning wines. Year-round wine and beer tasting is a treat, with so many award-winning area wineries and the Jack Russell Brewing Company. Apple Hill is one of the two appellations within El Dorado County. The other is located south of Pollock Pines in scenic Fair Play – all within minutes of each other. A map with the Farm trails and wineries will be provided. Sit inside by the fire at night, and during the day enjoy boating, water and snow skiing, historic gold mining towns, Apple Hill, and so much more. If you are looking for a great game of golf you can play at a truly championship golf course in Apple Hill, or take a visit to Historic Placerville for antique shopping or boutique browsing. Many restaurants and shops are here to be enjoyed. You may want to take a day trip up to South Lake Tahoe. This drive is only about 45 miles and will provide for lots of entertainment and gambling opportunities.
