The sofa bed is one of the two sofas in the den. The bed in the master bedroom is a brand new Nantucket Queen bed. The trundle bed in the sleeping porch is a brand new Nantucket Trundle. Brand new matching couch and love seat in the livingroom. Reading lights over each bed.

Winter Writer/Artist Retreat - Reasonable: GREAT ARTIST/WRITER GETAWAY The home is available for the late fall until June at a very reasonable rate ($1,800/mo. +util). Perfect for a writer or artist. It is winterized with a central floor register heating system. The home is rich in art and has maintained the classic cottage atmosphere. The land is large and is beautifully treed with gardens and is down a private road shared with 5 other homes, away from traffic. It is a quick 1 and 1/2 block walk to the center of the village, and 2 blocks to the 'Sconset beach. You can hear the surf from the home and see the Sankaty light cross the tree tops at night.
'Sconset Village: 'Sconset is a village of historical cottages and summer homes situated on the eastern end of Nantucket Island, the 2nd most eastern town in the US. During the hubbub of the summer crowds is delightful to get away to the quiet nature of 'Sconset. It was originally a seaman and whaler village, followed by an actors and writers colony. The 'Sconset Casino continues as a tennis club, and as a theater. There is a cafe, small grocery store, liquor store and a post office in the center of the village and 2 four star restaurants: Summer House and Chanticlair. Folks are unassuming and friendly here and you may well run across some rather famous folks strolling about (authors, actors, painters), as there is a an art and literary tradition (I will refrain from mentioning any names)
Beaching, Fishing and Sailing: The three main sports events of beaching, fishing and sailing excel all others. The beautiful beaches (around the island) range from high surf on the south shore, to moderate waters off of 'Sconset, to the end of the Harbor at Wauwinet, to calm Dionis, to Great Point, Dionis, Cisco and Madaket. The fishing is renowned world-wide. You don't need a boat as the surf casting is outstanding: stripers, blues, Spanish mackerel, bonita, false albacore, flounder. The sailing is outstanding from the dn of the bay at Wauwinet to the Nantucket Harbour to the open ocean. There is fresh water fishing in the many ponds. Many species of birds and sea life abound. Don't miss the whaling museum, one of the best in the world.
Golf: There are 2 public golf courses and 2 very exclusive private golf courses, as well as riding stables, and a fabulous skating arena.
Guest Book: First Rental Season - June and July Renters have reported that they love the home and would like to return. A typical comment is that it is better than the pictures and they love the atmosphere.
Other Activities: Fishing = One of the Best (Tackle available); Beaches (all around the island)
