So much to do ~~~~: Stroll the wide sandy beaches, shop in charming Capitola and Carmel Villages.... rent a kayak and explore the marine sanctuary or take a sail on the Chardonnay. Walk to Manuel's Restaurant in the charming village of Seacliff or just relax and enjoy a glass of wine at sunset on the rooftop crow's nest deck.
Explore the Monterey Bay!: We have prepared a binder in the cottage filled with information about day trips and activities. There is a list of the owner's own restaurant reviews and brochures on all the activities available at your doorstep. Centrally located in the middle of the county, you can make day trips to the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk to ride the Giant Dipper and the next day go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Both destinations are a short drive from the house.
Day Trips ~~~~: San Francisco is a 2 hour drive up the coast along scenic highway 1. San Juan Bautista, the charming mission town, is a 30 minute drive. Spend the day exploring colorful downtown Santa Cruz and have lunch on the Santa Cruz wharf. Take surf lessons at Pleasure Point or rent a kayak and explore the Elkhorn Slough Marine Sanctuary.
Golf: Golf the world-class courses of the Monterey Peninsula or Pasatiempo and DeLaveaga in Santa Cruz.
