Gamble at the Little River Casino in Manistee. Walk the Manistee Riverwalk from town to Lake Michigan. Plenty of great restaurants in area, many owned by innovative chefs. Wine country to the north with tours.

Notes: The kitchen has been remodeled with all shiny new appliances, new sink and freshly painted cabinets in spring of 2007. For the doggie family members, the back yard has a large fenced-in area for your pet's comfort and your peace of mind. There is a large octagonal picnic table in the fenced-in yard. There is a six chair dining table on the beach side deck with market umbrella. Many of our vacationers have described the house as light and airy with a great view.

Live theater, Antique shopping and art galleries:: Ramsdell Theater in Manistee has recently been lovingly restored to its original condition. Many entertaining plays are presented here during the summer months. Antique shopping and art galleries: Manistee and many surrounding towns have numerous antique shops stuffed to the rafters with all the good things you just have to have. There are several art galleries in Manistee, Frankfort, Beulah, and other towns nearby.

Arcadia, Michigan: Arcadia is a quaint village of about 200 situated near Lake Michigan with easy access to the lake. Just north of Arcadia up a big hill is one of the most beautiful scenic lookouts you will ever see. You are high above Lake Michigan and can look down on the clear waters and maybe see big fish slowly swimming by. Sunsets and stars: Watch sunsets from the deck after dinner and see the stars come out. You will be truly amazed by how bright they are. The Milky Way crosses the whole night sky. Sometimes Northern Lights can be seen the summer sky. We had a spectacular display a few years back in July with red, green, gold, blue, and white colors all over the night sky.

Activities: Boating: Bring your own boat and enjoy Lake Michigan or the many small lakes close by. You can water ski, fish, wind surf, beach comb, or just sit and watch the waves. Bicycling: There are always cyclists all over the area in the summer. Large groups and small. Some of the hills on M22 that goes past the house are quite challenging.

Golf: Area golf courses: Arcadia Bluffs links style course overlooking Lake Michigan is an unusual, beautiful course. Manistee National Golf Course south of town is an outstanding course.
