Volcanoes National Park: Take in the awe & splendor of Madame Pele at Volcanoes National Park. Hike across the floor of Kilauea-Iki crater or hike out to Halema'u ma'u, home of the fire goddess Pele. Please contact the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for current conditions. Plan ahead for the experience of a lifetime & hike out at night to view the flowing lava. Explore the many craters & lava tubes in the park. Sit & just be in the mother of creation.
Volcano Village: Volcano Village includes several restaurants, two grocery stores,a gas station, launderette, gift shops, art galleries, and a post office. Shop at our organic Sunday morning farmer's market at the Cooper Center. Visit & shop with the many artisians of the village. Marvel at the Hawaiian Quilting, or purchase some of the finest art you will ever experience. All inspired by the lush tropical surroundings, and the active Kilauea Volcano.
Historic Hilo Town: A 30 minute drive to Hilo, the island capital, for swimming, shopping, tours, etc. Fun Hilo Town with eclectic new and old shops. Check out the Kuhio Grill at the back of the Walmart shopping center. Sit & enjoy a meal at Cafe Pesto while taking in the beautiful Hilo Bay Scene. Visit the Mauna loa Macadamia nut farm, and experience the tour to see one of the islands biggest exports. Shop at the famous Hilo Farmers Market. Enjoy the fresh local produce, artists and tropical flowers. Visit the local zoo to enjoy the animals. Take a drive to see the 'Rainbow Waterfalls' or the 'Boiling Pots'. Drive around Banyan Drive and look to see what famous people planted the different Banyan trees. Golf at the Hilo Country Club along Hilo Bay. A 40 minutes to the North Hilo / Hamakua coast to see the waterfalls, and botanical gardens.
