Santa Cruz House Summary

Our home is centrally located in the heart of Santa Cruz, close to everything! It is has 2 fully-equipped kitchens and is a furnished vacation rental available year round. It is located less than two miles from UCSC and is walking distance to the beach, wharf, boardwalk, downtown and is three houses away from Neary Lagoon. All guests have been extremely pleased with the location as well as the accommodations! The entire duplex is especially great for family re-unions or multiple friends & families vacationing together as there are two separate entrances/living areas for privacy. The duplex is 2400 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 2 kitchens & 2 full and 2 half baths. It sleeps up to a maximum of 24 overnight guests. We have enjoyed hosting many family events here as the property features a fully-enclosed yard & is kid & pet friendly. Neary Lagoon is right down the street. There are three children parks in the immediate area plus a skateboard & soccer park & beach volleyball courts.

A short walk from our home is the world-famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk that is admission-free and is a hot spot for beach vibes and classic rides! And there are complimentary world-class entertainers on Friday nights during the summer. Downtown Santa Cruz boasts many fine restaurants, wonderful shopping, four movie theaters, natural foods grocery store, Trader Joe's, and many other attractions such as street performers. Santa Cruz has many beautiful beaches. There are three children parks in the immediate area in addition to a skateboard park, a regulation size soccer park and beach volleyball courts. A short stroll through Neary Lagoon are public tennis courts and 2 children's playgrounds. Neary Lagoon is right down the street, which is a natural reserve preserving a wetland ecosystem and wildlife refuge. Wildlife inhabiting or visiting the refuge include mallard & wood ducks, pied billed grebes, a multitude of coots, the world's meanest geese & several varieties of fish.

  • The duplex has a total of 4 bedrooms that are enclosed rooms. Each bedroom will sleep up to 4 people. The day beds in each bedroom have a twin mattress as well as a roll away trundle bed (another twin mattress) that tucks underneath for additional floor space during the day. We provide a 'King to Twin' foam converter for the purpose of putting the two twin mattresses together should the guests wish to have this sleeping arrangement. Each living room has 2 Queen size futon couches. Each futon couch has a queen size innerspring mattress that will sleep an additional 4 people in each living room. Please not that the living rooms are open common areas and are not enclosed.

Notes: Additional property features are enclosed dog runs in the back of each unit, barbecues in each yard. The home has new flooring, carpeting, interior paint and furniture. We are currently offering discounted rates as the exterior is weathered and detracts from the curb appeal. This is purely a cosmetic issue and we are planning on painting the exterior in the spring. May be rented for family reunions, multiple families traveling together, families gathering for weddings in Santa Cruz, corporate gatherings or your group’s next retreat. Professional groups encouraged to inquire.

Guest Book: An exceptional comment from one of our guests is : 'Our family stayed at this property for the 2007 Christmas getaway. This is a very well maintained property. It is obvious that the owner have put a lot of thoughts to make the guests feel at home - from the bicycles (one even with a baby seat) in the garage to the shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom, they got everything you need. You could virtually just get in your car and drive there as if you're heading home. No need to pack anything other than some change clothes (you don't even need to pack change clothes if you don't mind doing your laundry frequently :) ) The location of this property is also the best one can ask for - walking/biking distance to the beach/boardwalk, downtown and Trader Joe's are just a couple blocks away. Yet it sits on a quiet neighborhood. The best of all, from the front yard you could see the trailhead to the Neary Lagoon Park which offers a nice morning or afternoon walk. '
