About Seneca Lake: The second deepest lake east of the Mississippi as measured by its depth below sea level, Seneca is over 600 feet deep and three miles across in front of our cottage. At 38 miles long, it is the second longest of the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York, perfect for power-boating, fishing, sailing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailboarding, and other water sports. We do not have a dock or boat lift at the moment, but you may launch your powerboard or sailboat at several marinas within a ten- or fifteen-minute drive. Information for Parents: As parents ourselves, we know what you need to feel comfortable on vacation. Red Creek Cottage comes with lots of amenities for parents of children of all ages, including: -toys and games for toddlers to teens -family-friendly DVDs -child-proofed electrical outlets -a pack-n-play -a booster seat -outdoor games like badminton, volleyball, swingball and croquet -shallow water for wading and swimming -a swing -an inflatable boat, plus 2 canoes - a new 12' wooden rowboat -fishing gear -the stream bed to explore -gravel roads to hike on (with Mom or Dad) -lots of activities within a short drive (see 'Area Attractions') -room to play outside for hours -great roads around the countryside of the west shore of Seneca for day bike trips for older kids and their parents.
