Highlands Cabin Summary

The Stencil House is located just 2.5 miles from downtown Highlands. Come enjoy the tranquility, fresh mountain air and a glimpse of wildlife that only a mountain vacation can offer. At an elevation of 4118' you will enjoy summer time temperatures in the mid-70's. Only 1 1/2 hours from Asheville and South Carolina and just 3 short hours from Atlanta, Georgia. The Stencil House features an open floor plan with 20' high ceilings in the living area and one wall is covered in bark edge siding for a very rustic flare. Professionally decorated with antiques, the accommodations are well appointed, all with your comfort in mind. All rooms have been hand painted with stencils by a local artist. Living room has a spectacular mountain view and a cozy gas fireplace. Sliding glass doors open to a private deck where you can relax in the hot tub or take in the serene mountain view.

Only 2 1/2 miles from Main Street. Highlands is known as 'the walking town' - so come prepared. For a small town we have an eclectic mix of shops that sell everything from souvenirs, jewelry, designer clothing and one-of-a-kind mountain finds. You can be sure to find something for everyone with: Antiquing, hiking trails, gourmet restaurants, scenic views and awesome mountain shopping. Nearby is golf, rock climbing, wildlife viewing, botanical gardens, nature center, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, fishing and biking. Live auctions and theatre during the season.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • If renting a 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Unit, upstairs will be locked.
  • * 2 Person Occupancy, 1 Bedroom: On Season, from $189/night, $1113/week, Off Season: from $159/night, $973/week.
    * 50% Advance Deposit required to secure reservation; Remaining balance due 5 days before arrival.
    * 2 night minimum stay, except all holidays - 3 night minimum.
    * $25 Administrative Fee plus processing fees charged on all cancellations. Notice required for cancellations.

Directions from Brevard, NC: Follow US Hwy. 64 West, turn right on US 64/NC 28, turn left on NC 106 (Dillard Road), go 2.5 miles to Spotted Bear Lane, make right, go uphill for about 100 feet, turn left, then go approximately 100 feet, turn right onto cement drive. Cabin is at end of drive.

Directions from Atlanta, GA: I-85 North to I-985 North to GA 365 North, straight on US 23-441 North to Dillard, GA. Turn right onto GA 246, go total of 11.5 miles from intersection (GA 246 turns into NC 106 at State Line), make left onto Spotted Bear Lane, go uphill about 100 feet, turn left, then go approximately 100 feet and turn right onto cement drive. Cabin is at end of drive.

Directions from Greenville, SC: I-85 South to SC-28 to Highlands, follow 64 West (Main Street) to NC 106 (Dillard Road), turn left. Follow NC 106 (Dillard Road) for 2.5 miles to Spotted Bear Lane, make right, go uphill about 100 feet, turn left, then go approximately 100 feet and turn right onto cement drive. Cabin is at end of driveway.
