Gem Show: January/February: Close to Tucson. Fly into Tucson International. Rent a car and you are all set to enjoy your time at the gem show and come home to a lovely, quiet retreat! Relax in the evenings in the spa, or take a nice swim in one of the two pools. This is an active Adult Community 45 plus age group.
Sight Seeing: Close to Madera Canyon, World Famous for Bird Watching & Good Hiking. Many desert destinations an easy drive. Sabino Canyon, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Biosphere 2, Bisbee Mining and Historical Museum, The International Wildlife Museum, National Optical Astronomy at Kitt Peak, Marana Skydiving Center, Mission San Xavier Del Bac, Old Tucson Studios, Pima Air & Space Museum, Titan Missile Museum, Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns State Park, Mount Lemmon, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Saguaro National Park, Tumacacori National Historic Park, Explore Spanish history at Tubac Presidio, Search the heavens at Whipple Observatory, and many more. Tucson has a very active Performing Arts programs, i.e. Arizona Opera, Tucson Jazz Society, Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra. Plus the University of Arizona has wonderful programs throughout the year. And don't forget Spring Training!
Golf: There are approximately 40 golf courses within a 35 mile radius of Tucson. Green Valley touts 10 unique courses. All with there own personalities. Quail Creek Golf Course surrounds the Community.
