Seal Watch Cottage is a newly renovated home overlooking Lubec Narrows, the ocean channel between Lubec and Campobello Island, Canada. Watch the seals play and surf through the channel right from your first or second floor deck. Each second floor bedroom has a double sliding glass door opening onto the deck to capture the stunning views. The first floor deck offers space to seal watch, relax, or grill your favorite sea food. The fully equipped kitchen has all new counters, cabinets, and appliances including a dishwasher. High speed Internet and free long distance phone calls provided for those who absolutely can’t tear themselves away from the rest of the world. If you want to leave the rest of the world behind, a 3 mile long sandy beach is just a short stroll away. Two full baths; each has a four foot wide shower. Two bedrooms with queen and full bed; fold out sofa in living room. Bed and bath linen provided. No smoking. Renovation now complete! More photos coming!)

The Lubec area is host to three state parks, wildlife refuge, and several nature preserves, all of which offer a variety of well maintained hiking trails. Lubec has several sandy beaches (rare this far Down East), bold coastal cliffs, coastal rain forest, and wildflower meadows. Lubecs' West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country. Lighthouse lovers can visit 4 lighthouses within a 10 mile radius of Lubec. Local whale, wildlife, and puffin tours offer the chance to observe nature up close or you can rent a kayak or canoe to explore both salt and fresh water havens. You can also golf, swim in freshwater lakes, visit local galleries and craft shops, attend concerts, and visit local festivals. The area is rich in history: from the first naval battle of the Revolution to Maine's unique Cannery Row which lined the waterfronts of the Down East coast.
