Belmont Shore...a 5-7 minute stroll: 'I Love It' Naples Island is a short walk from downtown Belmont Shore with all its Beach flavored shopping and eateries all on one avenue about 1 mile long. Every international taste can be accommodated and you'll find shopping to satisfy every want and need. How about a Gondola Ride thru the Canals of Naples and Alimitos Bay.
Beaches...1 on each end of island...5-7 min stroll: Mothers Beach has a flavor all its own with large picnic area and, beautiful sandy beach with life guards. There is parking (but why not walk the 5-10 minutes it takes). Watch the boaters launch their boats across the water or maybe launch your own. Marine Stadium hots a variety of boat races each year and is exciting to watch. 'Horny Corners'...That's what they call this Beach...just across the short bridge and next to Belmont Shore. (5 minutes walk) Not as many people and great views of Alimitos Bay. This beach is also next to Bayshore Library. If you prefer the ocean...its about a 3/4 of a mile from the unit and has magnificent view of Catalina Island, the Oil Islands and the Queen Mary. Ever see a hundred multi colored 'Kite Surfers' a one time? (Just like Wind Surfing but with a kite)
Long Beach 15 minute bus trip: Long Beach is a short bus trip (15-20 Minute/99 cents) from the unit after about a 3 minute walk. Being centrally located of the beach communities to all that Southern California has to offer. It also is a great place to just stay in town and browse...go for an lunch or dinner cruise on a paddle-wheeler, 18th century sailing ship or just a harbor cruise. Did you know that Long Beach now has a Cruise Line Terminal...or how about the 2 terminals for your 1 hour trip to Santa Catalina Island. Spend a day at the Aquarium.
