The new 2000 sq ft vacation home and the three studios are located in Balfour on HWY 31, on the banks of Kootenay Lake overlooking Queens Bay and the Purcell Mountain Range. Enjoy the panoramic view from the kitchen, living and dining area, the MBR- and 3. BR, as well as from the spacious deck, while sun bathing or entertaining a BBQ party. A 5 minute walk leads you down to a pebble beach, 10 min to a white sandy beach, while across the street a championship golf course invites you to your favorite game. Last, but not least, only 15 minutes north on HWY 31, all year round, after a hard day's work of vacationing you may relax in the pool or cave of the Ainsworth Hot Springs.

The West Kootenays are one of the lesser frequented recreational areas of southern BC but are providing you with the most spectacular beauty of nature and wild life. Nelson, with its over 350 historic buildings, only 30 minutes to the west, is recognized as the cultural center of the district and regarded as the Best Little Arts Town in Canada . Our house can be used as base camp for the whole family, since the Kootenays are offering numerous activities for summer and winter. You may hike, bike or just walk through the parks up to the Kokanee glacier, nature pure. The Kootenay lake provides all the water sports you can think of with boat mooring and rentals just minutes away. Take your ATV for an excursion, meet your friends for fishing and hunting, go on a photo safari or just bird-watching. Winter activities are as numerous with snowshoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling directly from the house. Downhill, deep powder and back country skiing 40 mi S/E at Whitewater Mountain.

All summer we do offer Golf packages. With about 2 weeks notice we are able to arrange up to 50 % discount for most courses in the Kootenays
For the winter season we offer packages for downhill at the Whitewater Mountain .

Notes:
The heating consists of a pellet stove (central for winter) plus electric baseboard heating in every room and bath. On the property is an outdoor study and shower cabin, a large fire pit and several picnic tables and at the highest point, the Lookout, is a little hut with bunk beds. Should child accessories be required we can provide same. The following optional services can be offered: Baby sitting, housekeeping, grocery shopping, breakfast, chauffeur and footman. NO PETS!!!
