Suncatcher by-the-Sea, a lovingly restored Victorian home located in downtown Eastport, Maine, on Passamaquoddy Bay is available for year-round rental. The home, built in the early 1800's features a large living room and separate dining room, a parlor, and a completely new fully-equipped kitchen. Both the kitchen and master bedroom have a commanding 180 degree view of the Bay from Indian Island to Campobello Island, sweeping toward Lubec. There is a large deck across the back of the home for sitting and enjoying the bay view. During the day and evening one can also enjoy the swing on the front porch. The Suncatcher is located in the heart of Eastport, within an easy stroll to downtown shops and restaurants.

The 'Downeast' area of Maine is a remote and beautiful area of the State. Eastport is located as far north on the Atlantic Seaboard as one can travel. It looks across the bay to Campobello, Deer and Indian Islands, all situated in Canada. Eastport is one of the last working waterfronts in Maine with fishing boats that drag for scallops and urchin or set out lobster pots. During the summer, daily whale-watch cruises embark on the historic schooner, Sylvina W. Beal. The new 90' schooner, Halie & Matthew, will be offering day cruises. Eastport is home to the Old Sow, the largest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere. Our waters are part of the Bay of Fundy, with average tidal changes of 23'. Eastport boasts a thriving arts community with galleries, studios, concerts, and plays. Stroll the streets to view homes that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The downtown area offers antique and gift shops, and restaurants.
