At 'Blueberry Hill': Turning onto Nickajack Road you will cross the Cullasaja River which is a GREAT area for tubing and trout fishing. Further down is the Bryson family home place (historical register) which you can generally tour if the family members are out on the porch. Across the street from our home is a pasture of cows who generally have babies and the owners of the farm are very friendly. Nickajack Road is a quiet and the perfect place for a nice evening walk! Red Flyer wagon is available to take the kids along....and don't forget to wave at anyone who passes. It's the country way! Upon payment of your deposit, we will mail you driving directions to the house as well as a list of attractions/events in the surrounding and local area (ie, boat rentals, best restaurants, etc)

'Around the House': Our home backs up into 216 acres of forest which is wonderful for hiking. Because of the trees, cross ventilation and cool mountain nights, air conditioning is seldom needed. In such cases though, each bedroom has its own window unit, as does the kitchen. Ceiling fans are throughout the house. Absolutely no fireworks are permitted. A double hammock is available to roll out underneath the trees where you can enjoy the sounds of the stream below. Both gas and charcoal grills are in the garage. A full patio set (seating for 8) with a dining table is on the back porch along with candles and the outdoor fireplace. The house is equipped with high speed internet access and has a huge video/DVD library. There are tubes for floating, as well as board games and puzzles. A booster seat for dining and a 'little red wagon' are both available for children.

'In the Area': Only 2 minutes from our home, you can take a mountain ride on the Highlands Rd. where you'll enjoy both Cullasaja and Bridal Veil Falls right from your car. A few minutes later you can take a very short walk down to dramatic Dry Falls and 'walk behind the water'. If it's a hot day, why not stop at the swimming hole and slide down the rocks or take a daring jump from the cliffs. For calmer waters, stop at Cliffside Lake for swimming, fishing or a beautiful walk. At the top of the mountain is the city of Highlands. All this within 25 minutes of Blueberry Hill. A different 30 minute ride will take you up to Lake Glenville where pontoons boats are available for rent at Signal Ridge Marine. Yet another 30 minute trip will take you to DIllsboro for shopping, lower impact rafting and a ride on the Smoky Mountain Railroad which shouldn't be missed. A full guide book w/ maps and brochures is available in the house for your convenience.

Golf: There are 2 public golf courses available in Franklin. One is the city course and the other is Mill Creek Golf Club.

Other Activities: rafting, gem mining, train rides, shopping
