Local Area: Trenton is the gateway to Acadia. Located just minutes from Mount Desert Island, Trenton is off the beaten path and offers all the natural beauty of Downeast Maine without the crowds, traffic or bustle of more tourist-heavy towns like Bar Harbor. Western Bay is sheltered and shallow, so it provides ideal swimming conditions for kids in water that's just a little a bit warmer than most of the area. Acadia National Park and the towns of MDI (Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Somesville) are a ten to 20 minute drive away. Locally, there are several mini-golf parks and water slides that kids enjoy.
