Around the island

Cozumel is easy to get around. We do recommend renting a vehicle to see the island and provide you with the flexibility of going into town for dinner, shopping etc. We recommend taking the 20 ride to the other side of the island where there are no commercial zones for hotels and very little electricity. Visit the island lighthouse. Stop at Coconuts a great spot for lunch or island refreshments! Chen Rio Beach or Playa Bonita beach are great for walking. A trip to the tequila factory, the Mayan Ruins, bargain with the local road side vendors or whatever moves you to stop along the way! Located on the same road as the penthouse visit the Cozumel Museum, Stingray Park, Dolphanias Discovery Park, Playa Mia Water Park and Zoo, Fly High Zip Lining adventure, Chankanaub Park Natural, Mr. Sanchaz for horse back riding, the Light house park and aligator walk and so much more....

Restaurants

Some of the favorite restaurants for dinner are: Downtown all within walking distance of the town square; Prima, Especias, Guidos, LaChosa, El Capi Navagenti, Pepe's and La Cocay, Ponchos Back Yard..... There is a new boutique all inclusive hotel to the right front of the property where you can use the services of the restaurant without a day pass. They serve to adults only. The beach bar/restaurant at San Francisco Beach next door to this property (walking distance) is a favorite spot for lunch, also within a half mile of the property, Albertos is open until 1AM during high season serving dinner until at 9 PM, Mr. Sanchez Beach is also a great spot for lunch Playa Maya within a quarter mile also charges by the day for their water park offering various levels of entrance fees example 12.00 for just water sports up to 45.00 for water sports with food and bar...prices are subject to change. Nightlife famous Carlos & Charlies, Senior Frogs and Viva Mexico and many more..

Renting A Car

Most car rental companies are on the island we have used them all. We prefer Thrifty Car Rental, depending on the season we have paid as little as $22.00 per day to $45.00, prices are subject to change. We like them because they are located just outside the airport, your car is waiting for you when you arrive. They are usually waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. If they are not there you can see their store front on the other side of the traffic circle walking distance you can walk over to get your car and go back to pick up your passengers. We recommend booking it on the Internet. A few days prior to your arrival we recommend calling them on the island with your confirmation number we always call Carmen, Sales Manager, the office phone at the airport is 011-52-987-869-2957. They are eager to please island visitors!

Internet Service and phone cell phone coverage

If you have a cell phone and you want to use it on the island, we recommend calling your carrier to confirm that you have international dialing or it may not work. Our personal cell phones are Verizon and Cingular and work very will on the island in the South where the home is located and in the North where the restaurants and shops are. The East side of the island where there is little population has no cell phone coverage. For your convenience we also have a wireless Internet hook up in the penthouse, you must bring your own laptop, and it must be wireless enabled. You must be sure the radio in your computer is turned on. We do not provide a computer, nor do we provide technical service. If you choose not to bring your laptop, there are many Internet cafes on the island open late downtown

Private Parties and Mariachi Band

You may hire a local Mariachi band to play for your private party at a very reasonable cost. This 3 to 8 piece band will come to the penthouse and play for a minimum of one hour. Have your party on the rooftop solarium! Enjoy the wonderful sounds of Mexican music in the comfort of your vacation in paradise. Band must be scheduled and paid for separately directly to the band when they arrive to your event
