- In June there is the fabulous Classic & Antique Boat Show at the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club. In July the whole lake turns out in boats and on the shoreline to watch the over-the-lake fireworks. In August, it's all about soaking up the sun, jumping in the lake to cool off, water-skiing, fishing, BBQing and sitting on the porch watching the sun come up over the lake. In the fall you have the peaceful lake, spectacular sunsets, and a warm and lovely Indian Summer.
- Lake Hopatcong was a famous summer retreat at the turn of the century. The Great Depression took its toll, but the lake has come roaring back in the past ten years. Huge homes have returned to replace the grand hotels of the past that dotted the lake front from 1880 - 1940. The lake has two beautiful yacht clubs (one of them is the second oldest fresh water yacht club in the US). The Antique and Classic Boat Society has as many wooden boats on the lake as you would find on Lake Tahoe or Lake George.
