Why settle for lakefront when you can stay on a private island? On Middle Island, crystal clear Lovell Lake is more than just a view shared by neighbors and passerby. Enjoy cool lake breezes no matter which way the wind is blowing. Don't just hear the haunting call of the loons; watch them fish just yards away while you sunbathe on one of the 3 docks. Enjoy our 3 boats, including our brand-new pontoon boat, and our private mainland docking area with more places to swim, relax and explore. Doze in the hammock under the pines after swimming laps around the island or fishing in the lake's prime fishing waters. Sip cocktails on the sandy beach and watch the sun set behind Moose Mountain. While the mainlanders buy blueberries at the local market, you pick them right on the island, from the bushes lining the water's edge. Relax in the comfortable living room with your feet up by the fire or reclining on the double length, cushioned window seat - you are never far from the lake.

A quick 5 minute trip in one of our 3 boats to the mainland brings you to the village of Sanbornville, with several restaurants to choose from, as well as a well-stocked supermarket and great ice cream shop. A variety of restaurants and eclectic shops are available in Wolfeboro, the nation's first resort town, just a 20 minute drive past beautiful views and local farms. Several golf courses are at hand, antiquing, amusement parks, museums, and historic Mt. Washington are easy and scenic day drives. The Maine coast, with fresh lobster, LL Bean and Kennebunkport is 1 hour. Funky Portsmouth, with its whale-watching cruises, art gallery district and many restaurants and shops is less than 1 hour away. Our private mainland docking area offers another place to swim and is a great base for walks or exploring. Middle Island has 3 boats, including our brand-new pontoon boat, which makes for easy access from the docks - just step right onto the boat platform.

Lovell Lake House Rates

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • $1795-$2195/week (plus NH hotel tax). $400/night for weekends during May, September and October.
  • Until refundable $750 security deposit is received, all rates are subject to change without notice.

    Pets negotiable, with a $250 refundable pet security deposit.

    Half rental is required in May, with the remainder at least 1 month in advance of the rental period.

    Contract required, refundable security deposit required

    Credit cards accepted, including for deposit.

Idyllic! We offer a brand new pontoon boat, perfect for sunset cruises and easy access from the docks. Just step off the dock onto the boat platform. We also offer an aluminum run-about and open aluminum fishing boat. Our mainland dock area provides another peaceful location for swimming, lounging and a great base for walking and exploring.

Lovell Lake House Details

Even though you may not want to leave your own little paradise, a 5 minute ride in one of the 3 powerboats brings you to all that the mainland has to offer. Fresh lobster on the Maine coast is a little over an hour away, historic Wolfeboro on Lake Winnipesaukee just 20 minutes, outlet shopping in North Conway, and trips to Mt. Washington, Storyland and more only a quick day trip. In less time than you spend commuting to work every morning you can get to golf, hiking and more antique shops than there are Starbucks in Seattle.

Picture a private hide-away with a high-hearthed, floor-to ceiling stone fireplace, full kitchen, screened porch, antique furniture and a sandy beach and shallow water for the kids, set in a reservoir quality lake and you just begin to get a sense of the experience awaiting you at Middle Island.
