The prices include everything mentioned for a comfortable stay for up to 16 people . We require names and addresses of all family members included in your vacation time with us. As of July 1, 2005 there is a State of Maine 7% Sales Tax on all Vacation Rentals. We have added a Caretaker, at no additional charge, living on the premises . Tipping the caretaker is not necessary! There is no additional cleaning service fees for our guests. We do, however, expect you to remove all garbage and trash accumulated during your stay or to provide for its removal. The courtesy of stripping beds of dirty sheets is appreciated as is your starting a laundry load as you leave.
Please call for 2008 or 2009 availability. Please note that in the Fall and Winter of 2007 that we rent to MMA students. Thanks for thinking of having your vacation with us! We are a very special house for one family or for the reunion of the whole clan!

- Four of the bedrooms have queen size beds, 1 of the bedrooms comes with double bed. One sitting room/tower bedroom has a single or twin bed and is located up ladder-like steps (like on a small ship and wonderful for your teenager) in the Tower. The Living Area has a twin sofa bed in a big chair and a double sofa bed, too! There are assorted rooms with assorted futons and sofa beds on the second floor.

Castine House Details
Great if you are flying as everything is here : Just bring your clothes and groceries and settle right in! We provide all linens and toilet paper and some soaps. So we are an especially appealing destination for folks flying in with suitcase limitations or even if you are driving and just do not want to bring bedding and all. Witherle Woods abuts the property, providing a very serene setting and nice walks in the woods when you are not enjoying the water or town. Battle Avenue is a wonderful vacation destination, perfect for a large family and their well-behaved pets. A really special treat of the house is its big (12x12) and private tower room which has folding stairs to make it inaccessible for little kids as the steps are steep to the tower and that is part of the fun of it! We are next door to The Manor Bed and Breakfast which is a great place for a big wedding, although our home works well for smaller weddings and all family reunions!. If you have a wedding at The Manor, then your extra guests can lodge with us!
Well behaved dogs are very welcome! : Dogs that know how to behave themselves are welcome to stay with you in the house. Dogs may exercise outdoors in a 20 foot x 20 foot run we have provided for your dog's security. Pet owners should use common sense and clean up after their dogs and maintain dogs at all times on leash when out and about in Maine. We have leash laws here in Castine. Computer usage : You will need a wireless notebook adapter plug-in for lap top or notebook computer and then you will be able to use our DSL anywhere in the house!
Ski: To heck with skiing, it is Summer in Maine and we can arrange a Lobster and Clam Bake for everyone in you group either at the Backshore Beach at Sunset or at our place on the Deck! The delivered Maine Seafood Bake is a lot of fun!!!
Golf: There is a wonderful Golf Course just one mile from our house on Battle Ave and an easy walk, and as our guest you can play the nine holes there daily in the summer months. There is a modest fee to do this. There are tennis courts, too.
Guest Book: You'll want to come back to Castine! In fact you will probably want to buy your own Summer House or Year Round place in Castine one day! It is a magical spot on this Earth! Go to our MySpace site and see a slide show of house and yard photos--enjoy!
Other Activities: kayaking, biking and hiking in the woods on trails and numerous historic sites and places of interest to view while on walking tour of peninsula
