Harpswell Cottage Details
Neighborhood: The cottage is located in a small neighborhood of approximately 15 summer dwellings. These cottages are located at the end of a one mile dirt road through undeveloped forest. So, the area is very quiet with virtually no traffic. There are neighbors on three sides, each approximately 100 feet away. The cottage is situated immediately on the oceanfront and enjoys direct beach access. The beach is rocky, not sandy, so it is not ideal for swimming, though it is well-suited for walks along the shore at low tide. The Atlantic Ocean in Maine is cold, reaching only about 55 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer. The ocean is deep water, not tidal, so kayaks can be easily launched (bring your own, not included with rental).
