Certificate of Merit. Sullivan County Showcase Award Winner 2003. Storybook accommodations under slate roof! Less than two hours from New York City. 300 ft. of waterfront on 400 acre lake. Pair of American bald eagles make Swan Lake their home. Stone steps just outside back door lead to private sandy beach. Take winding path about forty feet through natural ferns under canopy of trees to wooden dock and rowboat. Beautiful stone walkway to wide steps up to covered porch. The living and dining room under cathedral ceiling. There is a stone mantle fireplace and glass doors leading to a 12x20 ft. deck facing the lake. The complete kitchen has a window over the sink, also facing the lake. The loft suite has six jet whirlpool Jacuzzi overlooking Swan Lake.The first floor has two bedrooms and a full bath with combination tub and shower and pull-out Castro-Convertible. The lower-level has pull-out couch and cable/VCR/DVD and CD player.

Bethel Woods is on Hurds Road in Bethel, New York, the original Woodstock site. Boating and exceptional fishing for large and small mouth bass, hiking, antiquing and great new restaurants. Terrific golf courses. Skiing at Holiday Mountain 20 minutes away. Bellaire one hour. Map-quest gives the wrong location The rental is between Redwood Lane and Shore Road on Lake Side.

Sullivan County Visitors Association website: Phone (845) 747-4449 and request a visitors guide with map be mailed out. Provides info to everything we have to offer in this beautiful resort area. Antiques? Try Ferndale Antiques Rt. #17 Exit #101 The Blue Victorian in Jeffersonville

Farming with kids Saturdays July/August. We have farms with all the animals you'd expect and Alpacas too. Visit Eleanor Schenck at Pacapoo Farm. She loves her small herd and enjoys the visits. There are American Bald Eagles and a pair of Beautiful White Swans that call Swan Lake home. Must mean the fishing is great.

Ski: Bellaire one hour away. Holiday Mountain 20 minutes from the door. Exit #107 off Route #17.

Other Activities: Bethel Woods center for the Arts is located next to the original Woodstock site, six miles from the Log Cabin. Fishing is great.
