Get away from it all...: As you make your way down the long, heavily treed drive to this rustic log cabin getaway, there will be no doubt in your mind that this is an atmosphere of utter serenity. This immaculate cabin was built in 1999 and purchased by us in late 2001. It has been a joy furnishing it with local log furniture and antiques which give it a cozy country charm. You will find it to have all the comforts of home and more; you need only bring yourselves (and perhaps a toothbrush) and sit back and relax as the sounds of nature surround you.

Home away from home...: You will find a 27' television in the living room with satellite programming, as well as a DVD player and an ample selection of family-friendly DVDs. On quiet evenings you may choose to relax to the crackling of a fire in the charming wood burning stove. A spacious loft has a comfortable king-sized bed and the adjacent bathroom has a shower/bathtub. A giant chalet window offers a view of the treetops and a small reading nook, and is the perfect place to hide away and enjoy a view of the property for families traveling with children, there is also a futon to accommodate the little ones. The second bedroom overlooks the side yard and has two single beds which can be pushed together to form a king that sleeps two very comfortably. A 650 sq. ft. gameroom, located on the lowest of the three level cabin, features an 8-foot competition billiard table, video games, a vintage Pepsi vending machine, and as much fun as you can stand to have indoors!

Enjoy the sounds of nature...: Since our cabin is situated in the isothermal belt you'll find the weather to be quite temperate most of the year. Outside you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. In the evenings you can even see Chimney Rock illuminated in the distance. Many guests take advantage of the gas grill and dine on the deck or just enjoy the mountain breeze from the giant log swing beneath the shade of the porch. Here you can watch a wide variety of birds and woodland wildlife scamper to and from the many feeding stations below. Adventurous souls can take a short walk down to the private spring-fed pond and spend a quiet afternoon lounging in the sun. There is little snow in this area, however, you can enjoy the cool weather while avoiding the inconvenience of iced over roads, renting chains for your tires or a 4- wheel drive and stomping around in boots. There are several slopes within 1 1/2 drive, enjoy the snow at your convenience!

Guest Book: Two relaxing weeks of doing a little, a lot of sleeping and watching the sunsets. This is a lovely place for a laid back vacation. The cabin is comfortable and had everything one would need. I saw deer and fox from the deck, plus tons of hummingbirds. Sunsets are wonderful from the deck with the mountains in the background.
