Marathon House Summary
Seabird Key is a private 10 acre tropical island hideaway located one-half mile offshore Marathon in the heart of the Florida Keys. As our guest, you have the entire Island to yourself, including an exquisite hardwood beach house (the only house on the Island) and a 19' Boston Whaler for your personal use. The runabout is used to visit the mainland, go fishing, snorkel on beautiful coral reefs, or enjoy a serene sunset cruise. The home is fully equipped, sleeps eight persons and is furnished with nautical antiques and Caribbean accents. Special features include multi-level porches, decks and a 35' widow's walk which affords 360-degree ocean views and a spectacular panorama of the bird sanctuary at sunset.
A palm shaded, white sandy beach with hammocks provides an unbelievably beautiful setting for private sunbathing, exploring jungle trails, and enjoying the ocean breezes and relaxing tranquility. Our manager, who lives on the mainland, is a phone call away 24/7 to assist you.

''Seabird Key, Your Own Private Island' is located 1/2 mile offshore in beautiful Florida Bay. Marathon is best known as the fishing capital of the World, but you may never want to leave the Island. Drift away in a palm shaded hammock on your own private sand beach. No one but you will know if you've gone fishing or not. If you must have a night out on the town, there are many great restaurants in Marathon or enjoy the 45 minute drive across the seven-mile bridge and down to Key West where you're sure to enjoy fabulous dining, shopping and most of all, the famous Key West sunset at Mallory Dock.

- Seabird celebrates the outdoor shower! If you're on your own private island, why not? Yes, there is an indoor shower for those who cling to their established habits, however...if you have a bit of a free spirit, enjoy the pleasure of showering with a banana leaf towering overhead. If you think you've lived before, just wait until a great white heron flies over while you're showering. The experience is unforgettable. Seabird's 3 bathrooms are basic, but are not lacking in comfort or refinement.

- The bedrooms (like the entire house) are constructed of hardwoods and designed with dramatic high ceilings. The home features tropical design with wooden louvers and ceiling fans in every room and above every bed for the most exotic away from it all feeling. The bamboo furniture compliments the Island decor and the hardwood floors add to the cool and breezy look. French doors open to porches and balconies adding to the exquisite pleasure of your own island. The views are breathtaking and the outdoor shower is an experience not to be missed.
