Things to do: Hike the trails, bike the carriage roads, swim or fish or boat in the lakes, enjoy Park programs such as ranger-led nature hikes, watch the wildlife, or relax at the beach - this is one of the most spectacular Parks in the National Park System. The hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor is a short drive across the Island, where you can enjoy an amazing variety of tourist activities appealing to any taste or budget. Finally (this is our personal favorite), you can simply relax at home. Send the kids down to fish or out to play in the yard. Sit back on our deck and enjoy the view. Watch the boats in the harbor, enjoy the play of light on the mountains of the Park or the islands offshore, see if you can spot a bald eagle soar overhead, and let yourself unwind.

What's this about a warehouse?: Our house was once a commercial property. It was, at various times, a boat-builder's shop and a seafood distributorship. There are two large warehouse bays in which we store cars and boats (big boats!) in the winter, and our house is built over one of the bays. However, it is no longer used commercially.

Guest Book: This rental is spacious, clean and comfortable. It is close to the town pier, offering a glimpse of a working fishing harbor. We enjoyed a delightfully fun evening at Miguel’s Restaurant just a short walk away. Margarita’s just right! Our large family enjoyed the spectacular views of the harbor and mountains of Acadia. The island shuttle couldn’t be more convenient. Our older teenage children navigated this free service and toured the island on a couple of occasions without any trouble. We hiked, biked, fished, watched sunrise over Cadillac Mountain, shopped, wandered and enjoyed many sunsets from our porch. We never left the island during our stay. We can highly recommend this property as a vacation rental. Mary Vetter
