On the south-west of São Miguel island, 25Km from the Azorean capital, Ponta Delgada, it's located a small village that is called Ginetes. A church, a coffee shop, a post office and a fire brigade bild the character of this nice village. In five minutes walking you'll find everything. Right in the centre of Ginetes there's a new road to 'Ferraria', where you can bath in a hot water source (thermal spring) whenever there's a low tide. From Ginetes you'll be 10 minutes, by car, away from the famous 'Sete Cidades Lakes'. But you'll also be near to Mosteiros, considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in the island. There, in Mosteiros village, you'll have the opportunity to swim freely on the Atlantic Ocean and to rest in a black sand beach. You will also find from Ginetes, several ways to start beautiful walks. There you can enjoy one of the loveliest lighthouses in the island, and you'll get there in 15 minutes walking.
