Property Details: The Villa consists of 2 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The bedrooms have comfortable beds with built in wardrobes and cupboard space. Linen and towels are provided. Fully equipped kitchen / living dining area with 3 sets of large french doors that open out onto the balcony with panoramic views of the harbour and mountains beyond. The dining area has a table and 6 chairs. For relaxation the living area has a 3-seater sofa bed and a matching 2- seater. Outside there is a barbeque patio table 6 chairs and 2 sun loungers. There is a boat dock ideal for sun bathing. Pick from the mature fruit trees with ackees, breadfruit, sour orange, mango, lime, almond, and coconut. Aloe Vera plant and Noni tree are also on site, which have all the natural organic elements. Lucea was named after the son of Christopher Columbus, Luis Columbus. Thereafter, it was known as St Lucea and became the capitol town for the Parish of Hanover in 1723.

About Lucea: The Port of Lucea (Lucea Harbour) is one of the safest ports in Jamaica, due to its horseshoe shape. Tryall Beach and Golf Club are located on the northeastern fringes of Lucea. Lucea harbour has a pier and is a natural deep-water port. In former times, it was a major port of call, for the shipping of Sugar, Bananas, Yams, Spices and Wood. Queen Elizabeth II and her entourage departed from Jamaica at this port in 1965 on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Hanover has a combination of more harbours, coves and bays than any other Parish. The area is inundated with springs, rivers, falls, and several islands. The great river forms the boundary line between Hanover and St. James, and being one of the longest rivers on the island it allows for scenic and fun filled rafting. Hanover boasts many fine beaches with different sand hues. Current Prime Minister Percival Patterson was born in Hanover.

Additional Information: This Villa is described as ' A Diamond in the Rough ' Jamaica is a 3rd world country and the property has neighbouring shacks, the town centre is predominantly a market town, although they have many supermarkets, restaurants, bars and local shops. The Harbour is beautiful, however, heavy rains wash debris down from the mountains rivers into the harbour and depending on the weather usually clears by mid-day. We have installed Air Conditioning units, but the islands electricity costs are excessive, therefore are not used, (please do not ask as a refusal often offends) the ceiling fans are sufficient with the breeze from the harbour circulating the interior when the double doors are open. The GroundsKeeper lives on-site to ensure your needs are met but is mindful of your wish for privacy. The area is considered safe and the people welcoming and friendly....

Guest Book: Much to our disappointment...we're back! We had such a wonderful time and really enjoyed staying at your villa. We found the people in Lucea to be very friendly and welcoming. You will definitely be hearing from us again, as everyone in the family agreed that we have to go back again! Aside from taking in some of the local sights, like the clock tower and Ft. Charlotte, we decided the bay was so beautiful and relaxing that we didn't want to waste time running around the rest of the island doing 'tourist' stuff. We weren't at the house more than 10 minutes before our girls jumped off the pier into the bay and that was practically the last we saw of them until it was time to leave on Monday. We absolutely LOVE Jamaican cooking! We went to several different restaurants in town, like the Ruuftop Restaurant and Sea Brieze. The food back home now sort of tastes bland after eating Pepper Steak, Stewed Chicken, Curry Chicken, Curry Goat, etc. all week.
