Conditions of stay
The accommodation is available from 5pm-7pm on date of arrival and to be vacated by 11am on date of departure. Unless otherwise agreed.
250 euro refundable cleaning & security deposit payable on arrival.
We endeavour to keep the quality to a high standard, and we ask that clients play their part by leaving the accommodation in the condition they find it.
We do our best to recycle our waste, your help would be appreciated by using the recycle bins provided.
Pets can be catered for on a case by case basis.
Please note the accommodation is non-smoking

Glenboy Country Accommodation is 10 minutes walk from the market town of Old castle. Old castle has a range of shops, banks, churches, Post Office, laundry, restaurants, cafes, pubs and nightclub, library, internet cafe, gym, taxis and bus service to Dublin and neighbouring towns. A range of music can be found in the pubs at weekends. With it’s the weekly market in the Masonic hall, sports such as pitch & putt, soccer and gaelic football and annual events such as the Le Cheile Arts and Music Festival and Agricultural Show, Oldcastle has all the features of a typical rural Irish town where real people work and live. Within 5 minutes drive of Glenboy are the Loughcrew megalithic cairns, on the highest point in Meath, woodland walks (ranging from 1 to 13 miles) in the 365 hectares of Beech plantation at Mullaghmeen forest or renowned fishing/boating lakes such as Lough Sheelin. Glenboy is located adjacent to the lakeland districts of Meath, Westmeath & Cavan.
Glenboy is also ideally situated for exploring heritage & nature landmarks on the Meath Heritage Trail, Boyne Valley Drive etc and the Tain Trail. The trail is a 365 mile drive/cycling route along the route of the epic tale, the Tain Bó Cuailgne (Cattle Raid of Cooley) by armies of the legendary Queen Maeve. County Meath is a treasure trove of archaeological and historical sites, including Newgrange, Knowth & Dowth. Also in the county is the Hill of Tara, the seat of the High Kings of Ireland & the Norman castle at Trim constructed in 1172, visited by King John in 1610 and 400 years later by Mel Gibson to film 'Braveheart'. A short drive takes you sites such as Fore Abbey with its 'seven wonders' or Kells famed for St. Columba's 6th monastery & the Book that bears its name now on display in Trinity College Dublin. From Glenboy possible day trips range from Dublin or Belfast to the rural delights of Donegal or the Cooley penninsula on the East Coast.
Golf courses nearby include (Headfort, Crover, Virginia, Ballinlough Castle, Delvin Castle etc) while Irelands unique domestic sports organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association are a feature of every village. Leisure centre/swimming pools, include Navan centre, Kells. Massage, reika and aromatherapy is offered by a range of practitioners in the area & the Farnham Health Spa in Cavan features an indoor-outdoor hydrotherapy infinity pool, thermal suite & 19 treatments rooms. Theatre & arts includes the Navan Solstice Centre, Mulllingar Arts Centre, Ramor Theatre Virginia. Heritage & historical information at Kells Heritage Centre & Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff, while the area offers a range of historic gardens open to the public (Loughcrew Gardens, Tullynally Castle and Belvedere House) with various events during the year. Meath has some 17 course in total including, Royal tara, Navan Golf course with its excellent sand based greens for winter golf & a traditional links course Laytown and Bettystown Golf Club. Courses in nearby In Westmeath include Ballinlough Castle opened designed by Druid's Glen designer Pat Ruddy on the grounds of a castle dating from the early 1600s. Forthcoming major events include the Solheim Cup in 2011 at Kileen Castle's course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Pitch & Putt is available in Oldcastle and Collinstown.
