La Maison Des Vignes (The House of Vines) sits in the heart of the lovely village of Tourouzelle, in the sunny Languedoc Roussillon area of the South of France, within a short drive are the beaches of the Mediterranean, Carcassonne and Montpellier. Situated in the Minervois and bordering the Corbiere wine regions, this former vigneron estate dates back to the 1600’s and is built in the traditional stone typical of the region. The architect-designed, newly renovated barn conversions have created 3 spacious gites which have all the character of the old stone walls, high ceilings and original wooden beams, combined with all the comforts and ‘mod cons’ that will make your stay here all the more pleasurable. There is also a heated pool in the landscaped, walled gardens. Whether you wish to soak up the sunshine by the pool or the beach, enjoy the fabulous food and wine of the area, play golf, cycle or walk, you are sure to discover your ‘joie de vivre’ at La Maison Des Vignes.

Details for Gite Coquelicot

Access to the gite is via the large terrace that overlooks the pool & walled gardens. The terrace is set up for outdoor dining & has a gas BBQ. From the terrace you enter the spacious lounge, dining & kitchen area which has wooden floors & a high vaulted ceiling with exposed beams. There is a comfortable sofa & seating area, an indoor dining area & a fully equipped kitchen. Bedroom 1 has a comfortable king-size bed, dressing table & wardrobe, wooden floors & large full-length windows & a large en-suite bathroom. The mezzanine level has a large galleried landing, which overlooks the living area. There is a day bed which can convert to a king-size bed. The mezzanine can also be screened off from the main living area. Bedroom 2 is also on the mezzanine level & has a high sloping ceiling with exposed beams, a king-size bed (the room can be made up with 2 single beds), table d’appoint & wardrobe. There is also an adjacent shower room with sink & WC.

La Maison Des Vignes is located in the centre of Tourouzelle, a characteristic French village and opposite the front gate you will find the village shop and the post office. Tourouzelle also has a taxi service, giving you more opportunity to try the local wine at the many fantastic restaurants in the area. Wine production is the main activity within the village and you can walk to the village’s three different wine domaines. The wide sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are only 40 min drive and if you fancy a change from the beach, then head towards Lac de Jouarres only a 5 min drive from La Maison Des Vignes, or if you prefer you could cycle there instead. For those who prefer to be on the water rather than in it, the historic Canal du Midi is less than 3 km from La Maison Des Vignes. As well as the many Cathar and Medieval castles in the area, there are also many Abbeys to explore. The Cities of Carcassonne, Narbonne, Beziers and Montpellier are within a short drive

  • A deposit of 25% of the rental is required when booking. The balance of the rental is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

    In the event of cancellation of a booking within 8 weeks of arrival, the full cost of the reserved accommodation will be charged and will be refunded only in the event that all cancelled accommodation is re-let.

Cycling: The immediate area around Tourouzelle offers endless possibilities for anything from a short ride up to full days mountain-biking or road cycling. Cycle routes will take you through the vineyards of the Minervois and Corbieres wine region and for the keen cyclist you can follow in the cycle tracks of the previous years Tour de France.

Golf: Outside of the hot summer months of July & August, the weather is ideal for a round of golf. Within easy access of Tourouzelle are several golf courses that golfers of all levels will find rewarding. From the beautiful setting of Mazamet golf course in the Black Mountains to the course at Carcassonne with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

Walking: Enjoy walking amongst the spectacular scenery of the vineyards, the Black Mountains or for the more adventurous the Pyrenees are a short distance away. Many local villages, including Tourouzelle have marked walks that cover different types of terrain and are suitable for walkers of all different levels
