Roussillon Farmhouse Summary

This 1870s farm house has all the charm and comfort you expect from a vacation rental in the historic Luberon regional park. Located in a small hamlet between Roussillon and Gordes, it is in the countryside immortalized by Peter Mayall in 'A Year in Provence.' The house, once a farm, was visited weekly by the Irish-born playwright Samuel Beckett during World War II. The house has two floors with a spacious, high wooden beam ceiling living room, kitchen to dine and linger, bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. The second floor has four bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers, one private half bath in one room, and a family room with TV and hide-a-way bed that can sleep 2 extra persons. Each room has a double bed. Extra single beds are available. The home has a picnic patio with view of the wine country and the historic orange-cliff village of Roussillon. 12 x 6-meter swimming pool (heated in spring and fall) also has a stunning panoramic view of the valley and the village

It's called Clavaillan. But you will not find our hamlet on a map. It's nestled below a wooded hill that rises from the valley of vineyards and wheat fields between the historic villages of Roussillon and Gordes. You can begin to recreate the moment you walk out the front door. Of course, we have own own pool, which is big enough to swim laps. You can hike to Joucas or Roussillon, which are both about 4 km away. There are great forest trails to run and hike. Cliffs to climb. Rivers to kayak. We have located several tennis courts nearby and bicycling in this area is a real special treat. Two wineries within walking distance offer tasting almost every day. Roussillon, Gordes, Joucas and Apt offer a range of dining options, many in spectacular settings. Avignon, Marseille and the Cote d'Azur are all within easy driving distance as are a host of medieval castles.
