With lots of blue skies and 300 days of sunshine a year, designed to offer the good life and it does. Activities around Green Valley are plentiful and year round. Enjoy hiking, biking, birding, sight seeing, shopping, tennis, golf, racquetball, swimming, fitness area, crafting, dancing and numerous organized clubs associated with Green Valley Recreation.
Green Valley is west of the Santa Rita Mountains, about 20 minutes south of Tucson and 145 miles south of Phoenix. Tubac, a distinguished artist community is only 10 minutes south of Green Valley. Tubac is the oldest Spanish settlement in the Southwest and is now home to many unique artist studios, shops, and galleries. If you like fishing, there are several lakes for fishing within one hour or less of Green Valley. Bird watchers are only 20 minutes from Madera Canyon. Madera Canyon has over 200 different species of birds that reside in the area. Bird watchers journey from all over the world to come and view many of these extremely rare birds in their natural habitats. Madera Canyon is considered to be one of the best bird sanctuaries in America. For an international flair, the colorful Mexican border town of Nogales is 40 miles south south of Green Valley. Green Valley Recreation Membership card is available for a nominal extra charge. This includes: swimming pools, spas, tennis courts, racquetball, shuffle board, cards, dancing, computer club, day trips, woodworking, hiking and MORE! The GVR card is your passport to just about every social center and recreation facility in Green Valley. This is an age-restricted community. At least one person must be age 55 or older. No residents under the age of 18.
Golf: With all of its other fine attributes, Green Valley is still synonymous with superior golf.
