Glenville Cabin Details

Fun things to do: Just a mile from this property is the public boat ramp at Bear Lake, where you can put in your boat, canoe or kayak. If you do not want the hassle of bringing your own equipped. TJ's Water Adventures in Tuckasegee (just 5 miles west on 281 at 107) can supply you with everything you and your family will need for a fantastic day on the water! In no time at all TJ will have you ready to go canoeing, or kayaking in one of the lakes, or floating down the Tuckasegee River. Please inquire about the discounts TJ offers to our renters. Other outdoor fun this beautiful area offers is hiking, and some of the nearby trails include Yellow Mountain, Whiteside Mountain, and Bad Creek. While you are out you should also visit the breathtaking waterfalls in this area, some of our favorites are Bridal Veil Falls, Upper and Lower Cullasaja Falls, and Dry Falls. If you are still looking for something to do , there are Horseback Riding trails, Cycling and ATV trails just up the road in Cullowhee .

more to do..: If fishing is your thing then you have picked a perfect spot, because fly fisherman love the wide, gentle Tuckasegee River which has been called 'Western Carolina's best stream for fly anglers'. Lake fishing for bass, walleye and crappie is also very popular here. If you have always wanted to 'tee off a mountain' then this area has some beautiful and challenging golf courses, both public and private. Cherokee is only about a 40 minute drive and here you can learn about the Cherokee civilization, traditions and lifestyle by visiting the outdoor drama 'Unto these Hills' and touring the living history Cherokee village. There is also a railroad with steam and diesel engines. For modern day excitement in Cherokee you may want to take in the Harrah's Cherokee Casino. where they offer world class entertainment and dining. In the winter you can snow ski at one of the nearby ski resorts in Maggie Valley. We are also proud neighbors to Cullowhee, home of Western Carolina University!

Just a short drive: To the south on hwy 107 you can visit the lovely town of Glenville and Beautiful Lake Glenville, and just 10 minutes beyond you will find the delightful town of Cashiers, known for it's antiques, also offers a promenade of beautiful shops, and fine dining. Just 10 minutes north on 107 from Tuckasegee you can find almost anything you might want in charming Sylva, an all American small town, with a Main Street filled with delightful shops, boutiques and outstanding eateries. Just a minute from Sylva is Dillsboro, the county's artistic center and the RIverwood shops, where working craftsmen open their galleries. At Dogwood Crafters more than 100 artisans run their own co-op of mountain crafts. You can also take a ride on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad right from the DIllsboro station. If you are still looking for something to do, a 1 hour drive from Sylva will take you to beautiful, historic Asheville and the Biltmore Estate where the sites are spectacular and the shopping is grand!

Other Activities: kayaking, canoeing, inner tubing, fly fishing
